I am excited to be going into my 4th year in Lehman Lobo Theatre. Originally from Galveston, TX, I started performing with a small theatre company on the island at the age of 8. Our company's primary focus was on musical theater, which essentially became my life. One big grand musical number after musical number!
I graduated from Galveston Ball High School and was a part of the Thespian Troupe there. We competed yearly in the UIL One Act Play Competition and won 1st place at State my sophomore year. I then moved on to Texas State University, where I perused a degree in education with a minor focusing on directing.
Hays CISD has been my home (and lets face it, my husbands home) for the last 10 years. Along with our baby boy Reid, who is beginning to enjoy singing and dancing himself. We are excited to spend another AMAZING year as a Lobo! Thank you for all of your support and we hope to see you at the shows!
I am thrilled for another year with the Lehman Theatre!. I've been a 'theatre kid' since I was twelve, and my high school theatre days were some of the best of my life. I earned my B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of North Texas, and went on to study with the Moscow Art Theatre, and then attended the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, in England. After graduate school, I spent seven years in New York, working as an actor, particularly for Shakespeare companies, with the occasional commercial or film in the mix. My wife and I moved to Austin in 2009 to start a family, and I started teaching in 2013. I've been exposed to many different methodologies for teaching acting, movement and voice over the years, and I like borrow from each of them. I'm excited to be teaching at the high school level, a first for me, and I look forward not only to teaching, but learning from these students.
